An academic researcher, Jean-Jacques Degroof has focused his research on innovation, economic development, and entrepreneurship. Jean-Jacques Degroof has worked with a number of organizations over the years, including Harvard University’s J.F. Kennedy School of Government during a yearlong fellowship with the Center for Business and Government, which was later renamed the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government (M-RCBG).

Within M-RCBG, there are various programs and initiatives related to important issues in the business industry, such as the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative (CSRI). The multidisciplinary program is designed to explore and improve private enterprise investment in public development. Focused primarily on Business and International Development and Governance and Accountability, CSRI studies the connection between corporate governance, corporate responsibility, international development, and public policy.

The initiative also supports collaboration and dialogue among a variety of stakeholders, ranging from businesses to civil society. Dedicated to uniting theory and practice, CSRI partners with numerous organizations in the field to develop innovative policy research and gather examples of effective corporate responsibility.
