A graduate of MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Jean-Jacques Degroof is currently an international venture investor and teacher. Jean-Jacques Degroof has also presented at several professional conferences, including the Babson Conference on Entrepreneurship Research and the 2003 annual conference of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE). An international, interdisciplinary nonprofit organization, the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics was founded in 1989. With members in more than 50 countries across five continents, the SASE promotes the full analysis of economic behavior through both deductive and inductive approaches to develop methods that are designed to be ethical and predictable. Joining the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics gives members a subscription to the society’s journal and access to a number of specialized research networks. The research networks, which range from Global Value Chains to Regulation and Governance, not only help like-minded members connect, but also review papers for inclusion in the SASE’s conferences. In addition to mini-conferences that focus on a single theme, the society holds an annual conference for all of its members. For instance, the 28th annual conference of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics will take place from June 24 through June 26, 2016, at the University of California, Berkeley. The conference will focus on issues of moral economics and economic moralities.
